System Requirements

for Update

Due to changes in the database schema, an update is only possible from a 3.3.x (or higher) version. That is, it is not possible to update from a version older than 3.3 to the current version. This leads to problems when running the update scripts and then to inconsistencies in the DB schema, which subsequently prevent the correct start of the Webdesk server!

Minimum System Requirements

The minimum Java runtime is now 1.7.x. The Webdesk setup package is delivered with

• Tomcat 7.0
• Sun JRE 1.7

There are still installers for 32-bit and 64-bit (the Ta connector is only available as a 32-bit package!). In general, the use of the 64-bit package is recommended, since the Webdesk system is relatively memory-intensive and reaches the memory limits of 32-bit Java installations with Tomcat (approx. 1.5 GB) relatively quickly even with smaller numbers of users.

Webdesk Core (PO)

• Improvement of the left navigation menu with regard to user experience and the option to also use it on touch screens (e.g. iPads)
• New user setup (po_editUserSettiings.act) with plugin mechanism to host settings of other Webdesk modules
• Option for the user to maintain their private vehicles in the new user setup

• Travel expense report: Option for the author to add attachments even after the travel workflow has been completed.
• Adding attachments to a trip via drag & drop

• Job to import current and past exchange rates from the ECB
• Automatic conversion of receipts in foreign currencies to EUR at the current rate according to the ECB.
