Text modules

Webdesk EWP is fully multilingual and can be parameterized and maintained independently by the administrator. To make this possible, so-called text modules have been built in.

As an administrator, you access the text modules via the menu tree under

SYSTEM
--> Text modules

Here you will find an overview of all existing text modules. Each text module is characterized by a key and a value (or translation). In addition, each text module is assigned to an action and a language.

To make the maintenance of the text modules easier, the following naming convention has been defined for the key:

<Webdesk module>_<action name>.<action type>_description

  • Example: this is the heading "Language code" within the action "showTextModules.act" in the module "Portal & Organization" - the key is therefore --> po_showTextModules.act_lngcode
  • Depending on the language selected in the user's browser, the correct translation is displayed. In the editing view of the text module, translations for other languages can be defined.

There are also text modules that are not assigned to an action. These mostly contain translations that are valid for an entire module and change never or only rarely. The principle of inheritance applies to these text modules (e.g. translations for "client", "group" or "valid from"). It was introduced so that one and the same word does not have to be translated several times in many forms. This allows a text module to "inherit" the translation of another text module.
