Possible problem: Possible solution:

During installation: instead of "Add features to an existing SQL Server 2016 instance", the option "Re-install SQL Server 2016" is selected, creating a second instance that causes problems.

Uninstall all other instances except the SQLEXPRESS instance and restart the PC.

Problems during further installation or setup 

Check in the Windows services whether the services are started

Webdesk TA Connector Logon Data

Under Windows services, enter a local domain account with the corresponding password in the Logon tab and confirm with ok.

SQL Databases

The created user must be the owner of the databases in order to read, write and delete data, otherwise the webdesk cannot function properly.

SQL cannot be installed with the "Default" setting

There is also the setting "more download" so you can download the whole installation program and install it later.

SQL cannot be installed due to wrong language selection

In the Windows Control Panel, change the region from German (Austria) to German (Germany) and save.

SQL Server service does not start after changing Windows password

Edit the "SQL Server Express" service in the Windows services and change the login to "Local System Account" in the "Login" tab.
