System Parameters Projecttime

General

Basic information on the meaning and use of system parameters can be found in the System Parameters chapter in the manual for the "Portal & Organization" module.

System parameters are settings that affect the fundamental behavior of Webdesk and represent a kind of "default setting".

However, they do not have to be a MUST setting - some system parameters represent MAY values and only apply if nothing else has been defined in settings at a higher level. Therefore, for some settings the behavior of the system may deviate from the system parameters because the settings have been overridden on a user-, client-, or group-specific basis.

Some parameters of the PtmOptions bean are only the system-wide default value: If a value is set in the client settings ("Project time" tab), it takes precedence (noted in the table).

System Parameters for the "Projecttime" Module

You can access the system parameters only as a Full System Administrator via the menu tree under:

SETTINGS
--> System Parameters

A list of all system parameters to be edited appears. In addition to the module and full-text search, you can also filter by so-called "beans". Beans define certain topic areas into which the settings are divided. In the Projecttime module, these beans are:

  • PtmAttendanceServiceImpl --> all settings concerning the link between project times and attendance times
  • PtmOptions --> general parameters for the PTM module
  • PtmProjectImageDimensions --> parameters concerning the default dimensions for the project image

Here you will find a list of all relevant system parameters for the Projecttime module as well as their meaning and configuration options:

Bean

Property/Name

Value(s)

Description

PtmAttendanceServiceImpl

timeAccountName

Free text, enter a name (default: twistzeit)

In this field, enter the name of the time account from the Interflex 6020 time tracking system whose balance is to be compared with the project time (for the comparison of project time vs. attendance time). The account must contain the daily actual time of a person. If the parameter is empty, an attendance time of 0 is assumed.

PtmAttendanceServiceImpl

monthlyTimeAccountName

Free text, enter a name (default: vksumme)

Optional account from the Interflex 6020 with the month-end balance of the actual time. If it is set, monthly attendance times (e.g., for the annual evaluation of project times or the job ReaccountMonthlyTimeEfforts, which redistributes the monthly efforts) are read directly from this monthly value, instead of summing up the daily values of timeAccountName. For the current month, or if no monthly value is available, the daily values continue to be used. If the parameter is empty, the daily values are always used.

PtmOptions

allowAnyGroupTypeForActivityConstraints

"true" or "false" (default: false)

true:

A given activity can be assigned to all group types in the project booking (useful, e.g., if the hierarchical groups are already distributed by cost centers or are identical to them)

false: A given activity in the project booking can only be assigned to the group type "Cost center" (a cost center structure must be created first; useful if a separate cost center structure is required, e.g., if the cost centers are structured differently from the hierarchical groups)

PtmOptions

approverCanReject

"true" or "false" (default: true)

true:

The person responsible for approving project times (if approval is required) can not only approve them, but also actively reject them

false: The person responsible for approval can only approve (approval-required) project times, but not reject them

A value in the client setting "Can approver reject efforts?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

customerShownInProjectChooser

"true" or "false" (default: true)

true:

The customer is displayed in the project selection dialog as a column and as a filter (selection list) with which the project list can be narrowed down

false: Column and filter for the customer are not displayed in the project selection dialog

A value in the client setting "Should customer be displayed as a column and filter in the project selection dialog?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

deleteKioskEffortsBelowMinutes

Enter a number of minutes (default: 0)

Relevant only for kiosk customers:

Enter the number of minutes below which the project time booking is automatically ignored. If, e.g., "2" is entered, all bookings that lasted less than 2 minutes are automatically deleted - this prevents, e.g., accidental bookings

With the default value 0, all bookings are kept. A value in the client setting "Delete efforts immediately after stopping on kiosks if shorter than X minutes" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

initialStateExistsInApprovalWorkflow

"true" or "false" (default: false)

true: New project times initially receive the status INITIAL in the approval process and must be submitted first

false: New project times are considered submitted immediately (status SUBMITTED)

A value in the client setting "Is there an INITIAL status in the approval workflow?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

levelIsAMaximum

"true" or "false" (default: true)

true:

Depending on the hierarchy levels defined for the element types, only certain element types can be selected for a new project that is assigned to a parent project. The hierarchy level defined for these element types must at least correspond to the level intended for the project, or be greater.

If, for example, level 4 is intended for the new project by the parent project, only element types from level 4 (and greater, i.e., 5, 6, 7, ...) are available for selection.

false: In this case, only element types are available that define EXACTLY the level at which the new project is to be placed.

So if level 3 is intended for the new project by the parent project, only those element types are available that have EXACTLY level 3.

PtmOptions

notifyEffortRejectsByMail

"true" or "false" (default: false)

true:

The person who booked project time receives an email notification if the booking is rejected (not confirmed) by the supervisor

false: No email notification is sent

A value in the client setting "Notify about rejected project times by email" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectAdminRoleName

Free text, enter a role name (default: ProjektAdmin)

Enter here the name of the existing role in the system that is to receive the collective permissions to edit all projects stored in the system.

PtmOptions

projectAttributeNames

Add fields via the "Add" button (default: Importance, Cost factor, Deadline-bound; in the system: Wichtigkeit, Kostenfaktor, Termingebunden)

Here additional fields can be added that are to be visible for every project in the project view and can be filled with additional information.

These attributes are prefilled (empty) for newly created projects and are available in the project connector as additional fields (prefixed with "_") for import and export.

PtmOptions

projectAuthorRoleName

Free text, enter a role name (default: ProjektAutor)

Enter here the name of the existing role in the system that is to receive the permission to create new projects in the project overview via the "New project" button.

PtmOptions

projectChooserShowsProjectEffortStats

"true" or "false" (default: false)

true: The project selection additionally displays key figures of the project (planned hours, hours booked so far, hours booked as billable so far, open hours)

A value in the client setting "Should the project selection show important key figures on project efforts?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectChooserShowsTreeViewInitially

"true" or "false" (default: false)

true: The project booking mask shows the tree view by default for selecting the project to be booked

false: The tree view is not shown by default; instead, the list view appears for project selection

A value in the client setting "Should the project selection dialog start with tree view?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectLongLabelParentsSeparator

Enter any character string (default: " -> ")

Selection of the character string (e.g., "-->") to be used in the "LongLabel" display for separating parent projects from their subprojects.

E.g., if the parameter is ">>", the display is as follows: Main project >> Subproject

Only takes effect if projectLongLabelShowsParents is active. A value in the client setting "Project time: The sequence of separators for the names of the parent projects" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectLongLabelShowsParents

"true" or "false" (default: true)

true: The "LongLabel" display of a project also shows the parent projects (separated by projectLongLabelParentsSeparator)

A value in the client setting "Project time: Should parent projects be displayed?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectLongLabelVelocityScript

Velocity text pattern (default: $name)

Text pattern for the "LongLabel" display of a project in project time; parent projects are also displayed according to this pattern.

A value in the client setting "Project time: Text pattern for the display of project names" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

projectMediumLabelVelocityScript

Velocity text pattern (default: $shortName ($name))

Text pattern for the display of project names in project views (e.g., project selection).

A value in the client setting "Project: Text pattern for the display of project names" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

selfApprovalGroupNames

List of group short names (default: empty)

Short names of groups whose members are allowed to approve their own project times.

A value in the client setting "Short names of groups whose members are allowed to approve their efforts themselves" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

showActivity, showCustomer, showChargeable, showTA, showTime

"true" or "false" (default: showActivity false, showCustomer false, showChargeable true, showTA true, showTime false)

Default values for whether the activity, the customer, the billability, the comparison to time tracking (attendance time), or the time intervals (from-to times) are displayed in the project time actions (project time recording, favorites, project time evaluations). If a value is set in the action configuration, it applies.

A value in the client settings "Project time: Show activity", "Project time: Show customers", "Project time: Show billability", "Project time: Show comparison to time tracking", or "Project time: Show time intervals" takes precedence over the system parameter.

PtmOptions

useEffortStateAndApprovalWorkflow

"true" or "false" (default: true)

true: The status of a project time (e.g., submitted, approved, rejected) is displayed and used for the approval process

false: Project times are managed without a status; the action for approving project times cannot then be used

A value in the client setting "Should effort status be displayed and used to control workflows?" takes precedence.

PtmOptions

usePtmAttendanceTimeAfterDays

Number of days (default: -1)

Number of days in the past for which the attendance data are queried directly from time management during project time recording; for days further back, the attendance data stored in project time are used (better performance). 0: always use the project time attendance data; -1: always use the data from time management.

A value in the client setting "Use PTM attendance data instead of TA attendance data after this number of days" takes precedence.
