Jobs in the DM Module

Jobs serve as periodically running helper programs for the synchronization and processing of data. Further details on jobs can be found here: Job management.

The jobs of the DM module revolve around maintaining the personnel file folder structures and the lifecycle management of the stored documents. The following jobs are relevant for the DM module:

  • PropagateMetaStructure
Enforces the metadata structure in the mapped repositories: creates missing folders, renames folders after macro changes, and cleans up removed meta folders. The standard tool when folders are missing for individual persons or the template has changed.
  • BindFoldersToMetaStructure
Retroactively links already existing folder trees of a repository to a metadata structure (initially or repeatedly). Important when adopting organically grown Alfresco structures.
  • ConvertAlfrescoObjectsToDmObjects
Converts generic Alfresco objects (cmis:folder / cmis:document) into DM-managed objects (dm:folder / dm:document) – with test and statistics functions. One-time migration before connecting an existing Alfresco.
  • DeleteDocumentsFromMetaFolders
Deletes documents of a meta folder that are older than a configured period (years/months) and logs to the deletion log. This implements retention periods in the personnel file.

All four jobs are configurable and inactive in the delivered state. The general job parameters such as trigger and mail notification apply as defined in central job management.
