Creating Validations

Creating Validations

Validations are business script checks for settlement definitions. They supplement the technical form checks but do not replace them.

Configuration

  • Name: unique designation.
  • Description: business purpose and expected result.
  • Client: optional scope.
  • Validation script: JavaScript using the validation interface provided in the system.

Procedure

  1. Describe the test case and error message from a business perspective.
  2. Create the validation script with minimal logic.
  3. Test with valid and invalid trips.
  4. Assign the validation in the appropriate settlement definition.
  5. When variable names or calculation logic change, run all affected test cases again.

Scripts must not have uncontrolled side effects. The variables and assumptions used must be documented in the description.
