Context Menu

Context menu

This parameter enables linking between a request form and, for example, the calendar or journal (or other actions). This link then becomes visible in the workflow lists (Open requests or Open tasks, ...).

In addition, via the context menu you can jump directly from the journal or calendar (group calendar) into the respective request (for example into an absence request, time correction or the like).

Important in this context:

  • the permission on the action must be present (in the context of the requester, i.e. e.g. on the journals of other employees, group calendars etc.)
  • Variables from the request can be read out via the Workflow Together Editor
  • As shown in the journal example, an auxiliary variable must first be defined, which stores the value of the request variable.
In the direct URL call, the auxiliary variable is called

Context menu in a process

On the left, the desired action is selected, i.e. e.g. the configuration of a journal, calendar, group calendar etc. (the dropdown list provides all available actions and configurations).

  • Here you can select either the action (ending .act) > users are then shown the action according to their permission
  • You can also select a specific configuration directly (ending .cact) > the user must have the corresponding permission on this configuration

On the right, the parameter is configured. Below, some auxiliary variables and context menu configurations are listed.

Context menu in an action / configuration

In the configuration view of the respective action, the context menu can be stored.

  • Element
Selection for the positioning of the context menu:
Table cell > context menu is generated for a cell (useful in the calendar > cell = day)
Table row > context menu is generated for the clicked row (useful in the journal > row = day)
Table > context menu is generated for the entire table
  • Action
Selection of the action that is to be displayed, e.g. absence request, time correction, etc.
  • URL query
    Passes information to the action called via the context menu, e.g. the date;
The URL query can either be entered directly, or with the help of the provided context parameters (click the icon with 3 dots), with which a URL pattern can be selected.
  • With Add further context parameters can be added
With Apply the selected or entered context parameters are applied
  • Position
Ordering can be done with the help of the arrow keys
  • Add / Delete
To add new context parameters, click the "Add" button; to delete the link, click the "Delete" button

Example in a workflow list:
The two downward arrows symbolize that a context menu is available. By mouse click (right mouse button), the stored action can be executed, and the action can also be started in a new window (icon on the right-hand side).
