Job Inform about Reschedulings

Purpose

The informAboutReschedulings job informs persons about new, changed, and deleted reschedulings. Depending on the configuration, it generates emails, groupware entries, or workflow tasks. In the supplied job descriptor, the job is configurable but not active by default.

Configuration

  • Notify via: mail, gwReminder, gwAppointment, or workflow.
  • Email: sender, subject, and the content variant standard or advanced.
  • Groupware method: override updates or deletes existing groupware entries. additional marks the previous entry as no longer valid or cancels it and creates a new one.
  • Action URLs: optional URLs for displaying and performing reschedulings.
  • Period: number of days relative to today. The start value defaults to 0, the end value to 100. Missing or non-numeric values are replaced by these defaults.
  • Person restriction: all, include, or exclude. With include, only the selected persons are processed; with exclude, all persons except the selected ones are processed.

Behavior

  • The job determines new, changed, and deleted reschedulings within the configured period and for the selected persons.
  • For email, the entries are consolidated per receiving person. The message contains, among other things, status, date, times, all-day flag, planned group or resource type, and description. The optional variant advanced adds a further table with existing reschedulings.
  • For groupware, new, changed, and deleted entries are processed. If the groupware service is not available, no groupware entries are created.
  • For workflow, a task is created for the receiving person for each rescheduling. In the case of a deletion, the job tries to end the previous workflow task; if that is not possible, it is marked as no longer valid.
  • After successful processing, the job updates the respective last mail, groupware, or workflow timestamp as well as the stored external ID.

Notes

General job parameters such as trigger and mail notification are defined in the central job management.
