List of caches

Cache refers to a method of making content that was already available once available more quickly on the next access.
Reasons for using a cache are a (relatively speaking) slow access to a background medium or a relatively high effort to regenerate frequently needed data. Caches are therefore an essential factor for optimizing performance and ensuring fast access.

In this way, different data is temporarily stored in separate caches and is immediately available for retrieval.
Among others, the following caches can be found in Webdesk:

  • User data,
  • temporary access permissions,
  • role assignments,
  • menu entries,
  • process definitions,
  • process details
  • Notes calendar entries (free/busy display) and much more.

In the case of certain changes to the parameterization of the system, such as adding new menu entries, determining new role holders or creating new groups, it may be necessary to clear the cache in order to make the change visible in Webdesk as well.
All caches can also be cleared at the same time. Just note that after clearing all caches, the workflow cache must be refreshed so that all process definitions are displayed.
