Summarize Connector

This connector reads the content of another reading connector and groups or sums the content anew.
As a rule, a Summarize connector always has only 3 output columns:

• Field for person identifier (e.g. personnel number)
• Field for grouping criterion
• Field for total amount

This allows the connector to be used, for example, to regroup costs from detailed records according to certain criteria.
Example:

• All approved travel expense reports are converted into a wage type file.
• The wage type file only knows the following information: personnel number (person identifier), wage type (grouping criterion) and amount (total of this employee's costs in this wage type)

The configuration is now used to specify:

• Which column from the source connector contains the person identifier (personnel number)
• What the field name of the grouping field should be ("Heading of the target group")
• What the field name of the amount field should be ("Heading of the sum")
• How the amount totals per grouping are to be arrived at. For this, any number of definitions can be used to specify which amount field from the source connector is to be added to which grouping bucket.

The SummarizeConnector is generally intended to solve the task of grouping the data of an existing connector by one column as personnel number and a second column as group name; the third column should then contain the summed amount of a mapped field from the source connector.

• Source connector
  Selection of the source connector
• Column for personnel number
  Field from the source connector that contains the personnel number.
• Heading of the target group
  Defines the field name of the grouping information when the Summarize connector is used as a source connector.
• Heading of the sum
  Defines the field name for the amount total when the SummarizeConnector is used as a source connector.
• Filter out null values
  If the parameter is checked, rows with 0 amounts are not displayed,

Column headings

The column headings depend on the source connector.

• Source field
  Amount field from the source connector whose value is to be added to the target group (sum) for the current employee.
• Javascript
  Optional Javascript that can access the services of Webdesk and can adjust the source value before it is added to the target group value.
• Target group
  Name of the "bucket" or grouping information to which the amount from the source field is to be added.
• Add / Delete
  Clicking the button allows new headings to be added or unwanted headings to be deleted.
