Job Import Exchange Rates Via YQL

Purpose and status

The job imports exchange rates via the YQL endpoint stored in the code. In the job catalog the job is inactive by default and is marked as deprecated in the current code. For new installations, use ImportExchangeRatesFromProvider where possible.

Configuration

  • Overwrite existing rates (overwrite): Controls whether existing rates are replaced.
  • Select currency (exchangeCurrencySelector): allCurrencies for all supported currencies, definedInDb for the currencies defined in Webdesk or currencies for an individual selection.
  • Time interval: daysBack or fromDate. With daysBack, the import starts from today minus the specified number of days; at least one day is required. With fromDate, the import starts from the selected date.
  • The base currency is read from the Webdesk currency configuration.

Behavior

  • For historical data, the job calls individual YQL queries per currency; current rates can be processed in a single combined query.
  • A buffer period before the start date takes weekends and public holidays into account.
  • The rates are stored via the common exchange rate import. Whether new currencies are created depends on the selected currency option.
  • Communication depends on the YQL service configured in the code. Check the external service before enabling the job.

Since the job is deprecated, the current provider-based exchange rate import should be used for new configurations.
