Job PoImportEmployeePhotos
Purpose
The importEmployeePhotos job reads employee photos from a configured file directory and stores them in the Webdesk person master data. In the descriptor that ships with the product, the job is active, configurable and interruptible.
Process
- The configured directory is read for the supported extensions
.jpg,.jpeg,.gifand.png. - The person identifier is formed from the file name without the extension. Optionally, a JavaScript can rewrite the file name before the search. The variable
fileNameis available in the script. - Depending on the setting, the identifier is resolved as TA ID or as personnel number.
- If a person is found, the existing image is updated or a new image is created. If the date check is used, the update only takes place if the file is newer than the existing image.
- Each file is processed individually. Errors for one file are logged and do not interrupt the processing of the remaining files.
Configuration
- Path to the image location: Directory from which the image files are read. The executing system needs read permissions.
- File name corresponds to employee TA ID?: If activated, the file name is interpreted as TA ID; otherwise as personnel number.
- Apply script to the file name: Optional JavaScript. The return value is used as the person identifier.
- Use the file's modification date to update the photo?: If activated, the modification date of the file is compared with the modification date of the existing image. If not activated, an existing image is overwritten regardless of the date.
Notes
Persons for whom no matching TA ID or personnel number is found are not updated. The job processes the files synchronously and one after another. Errors when reading the directory are logged as job errors.
The general job parameters such as trigger and mail notification apply as described in the central job management.
